I WON, I WON, I WON!!!!!!

The Logo Competition was finalised today. I had a total of 42 votes on my logo design. I can't thank everyone enough for voting for my design. I wonder what I will choose as my prize now! I have already had Renee from Sweet Cheek Crafts contact me with a query about business cards.

I have had a very busy couple of days designing business cards, a letterhead and brochure for "La Goulue". Susana has sent me lots of photos of her cheesecakes to put into her brochure and they look so yum! Pity she's all the way over in another country and I don't get to sample them!

I also had an email from my mum asking if I could do a design for their business cards and magnets as Vistaprint were having a big special on this weekend and they wanted to get some printed through there. The special sounded really good so I've decided to design and order myself some too. 250 cards for FREE!! Well they've ended up costing me around $35 to be printed, by the time I get charged for uploading the front image, the back image and pay for postage. I still think it's pretty good! I saved myself the same as what I'm paying almost. They should look 100% better than the ones I did myself on that perforated card paper!

That's about it for today! Just wanted to share my good news!!

Logo Competition & First International Query

I've entered myself into a logo competition (twice). A company was looking for a new logo.

We are looking for a unique digital logo that we can use on marketing material such as business cards, stickers, etc as well as as our Facebook logo.

The entry with the most votes at midnight on Friday, 21st May will win a Sweet Cheek Crafts gift voucher worth $40.  To vote you need to "like" Sweet-Cheek-Crafts, go into their Photos, find the Competition Album and type "VOTE" under the logo that you like the best.

To be honest, I haven't really looked into their products closely to see what I would like to spend my $40 voucher on, I just thought I'd have a go to build up  my profile a little bit.

FIND MY ENTRY HERE #6 AND #23

Thought I'd add photos here too:

This first one I really liked but did up about 12 different colour schemes before I found the right one. I chose the brown and pink because that is the colour scheme on their blog.

The second one I whipped up yesterday in about 15 minutes while I was bored!!! I think it's cute too, but I still like the first one best.

On another exciting note... a Facebook Jovi friend has a business making cheesecakes and she's asked me if I could create a logo and then implement it on all her stationery, business cards, flyers, etc, etc! And she also needs the boxes for her cheesecakes designed too. I am soooooo excited!

She lives in Mexico, so unfortunately I cannot taste her cheesecakes that look so scrumptious in her photos! All she is waiting for now is a business name!! She has come up with a few and we were brainstorming over MSN yesterday. I think she's going to poll her family to find which one she should use.

I'm getting ideas in my head already for the logo, but it's a little bit hard to attempt anything without a name! Hopefully it won't take too long before I can start on something.

Oh, and I've already been asked to quote on doing up some Greeting Cards for another Facebook Jovi friend.

Gotta love the Bon Jovi Family from all over the world :)

Web Address

I now have an easier web address for my Facebook page. I wish I'd found out how to create one yesterday before putting stickers on the back of my nephews birthday invites that said "find me on Facebook".

www.facebook.com/BerryDigitalDesigns

That is so much easier than the other version http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=174281&id=370797398790#!/BerryDigitalDesigns?ref=ts&ajaxpipe=1&__a=10 don't you think?

You can set up your own by going to here: http://www.facebook.com/username/
Then click on 'Set a username for your pages', select your page, and type your desired name. Make sure you decide the name you want to use first though, as once you select it, you can't change it.

Now I can start doing up some flyers (woohoo) without having to wait for my proper web page to be set up, as I have no idea how much longer that it going to take Shane.

Frustrated!!!

How does everyone get their business up and running?

I have a facebook business fan page and have around 215 "fans", or "likers" as they're called these days. But I am yet to get any work from them. I see all the other businesses who I "like" posting to their wall that they're doing this logo design, and that facebook welcome page, and this business card design, and that gift voucher design... etc, etc, etc. Every day they're at least getting 2-3 jobs and I'm sitting there twiddling my thumbs and doing up samples for my portfolio.

I'm even doing random draws (thanks www.random.org) to find winners to give Discount Vouchers to. I'm notifying the winners and asking them to contact me with their details so I can email them the voucher. I've drawn 5 different winners and not one has contacted me yet!! The first draw was just for one winner, but the last 2 I've made two winners. They're given a week to contact me before I do a redraw. I've sent them PMs and also tagged them in my status if they're a FB friend. But still nothing! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

I know I have only been running this hobby business since December but I would've thought that someone other than family would need my services.

On a more cheerful note I have been given a laptop as my Mother's Day present - 3 days early :D  Now I don't have to be shut up in the study while working. We now just need a wireless router so I don't have to be connected to so many wires at once! And all I need is some work to help pay for the laptop... There I go, getting frustrated again!!!
